The Crisis Assessment Team (CAT) is the primary point of contact for all mental health emergencies occurring during evening, nighttime, weekend and holiday hours. CAT is comprised of licensed clinicians and crisis case managers who are dedicated to resolving emergency situations by providing brief and intensive services with the goal of reducing the need for hospitalization. The Co-Responder often works with the Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) trained officers in providing community based interventions as well as follow up and referrals. To learn more about JCMHC’s Co-Responder program, please see Johnson County's Co-Responder program: new solutions for law enforcement's interactions with mental health or see our JOCO Co-Responder Coverage Map to see the county’s Co-Responder coverage and contact information. The Co-Responder’s primary responsibility is to respond on scene with a law enforcement officer on calls when behavioral health is identified as a possible contributing factor. Additionally, Co-Responders conduct outreach and follow-up calls to individuals who had police contact as a result of a behavioral health crisis, with the intention of getting the individual the help they need to avoid future police contact. The Mental Health Co-responder Program embeds a mental health clinician from Johnson County Mental Health Center (JCMHC) within most of the police departments within Johnson County. The goal of the program is to provide the right intervention at the right time in an effort to prevent unnecessary arrests, decrease trips to the emergency rooms and reduce repeat calls for service for our law enforcement partners. Firmness: You should look for a pillow that provides a good mix of comfort and support, depending on your needs and sleeping preferences. Picking a pillow with a loft tailored to your body type and preferred sleeping position can ensure that your pillow is able to provide plenty of support, promote spinal alignment, and prevent airway obstruction to help with snoring.
The Bitcoin network, on the other hand, can handle just 7 transactions per second. To give an idea of scale, the Visa network – a fully adopted technology catering to a global audience – can manage 1700 transactions every second. Proof of work networks, such as Bitcoin, are energy-intensive and slow to process transactions, especially when they are congested. But, understanding the limitations of a proof-of-work blockchain in terms of scalability, speed, cost and ultimately utility, they set out to create an alternative that solved these problems. Who Created Cardano and Why?Ĭardano’s founders Charles Hoskinson and Jerry Wood are no strangers to the crypto scene: they were also on the original Ethereum team. What Is Cardano (ADA)?Ĭardano is the layer 1 blockchain with its own NFTs and DeFi platforms, promising a cheaper, faster and more efficient crypto ecosystem to rival the current slow giants of crypto. So in this article, we’ll take a deep dive into the world of Cardano and its native coin ADA, so that you know exactly what this ecosystem is all about.īut before we get there, let’s get a bit of background on the network itself. So, what makes users so attracted to Cardano? And what’s the difference between Cardano, Ethereum and Bitcoin? Like every blockchain, Cardano has its strengths and weaknesses. This means you can send, receive and manage your ADA seamlessly within Ledger’s interface, while securing your private keys offline, even as you interactĬardano is one of the most popular layer-one networks, hosting a range of top projects and powering whole ecosystems. Its native token ADA – also a governance token enabling the network to become decentralized – has just been integrated within Ledger Live The blockchain is capable of around 250 transactions per second, is extremely energy efficient, and can complete transactions for a fraction of the gas fees paid on rival networks This presents a natural upper bound in the context of the speed-security tradeoff.īy combining our positive and negative results we map the speed/security domain for blockchain protocols and list open problems for future work.- Cardano is a Layer 1 blockchain that offers improved transaction speed and scalability – as well as its own ecosystem of dApps We also present a theoretical attack against bitcoin which we validate in simulation that works when blockchain rate is highly accelerated. Generation rates which have been adopted by other ``alt-coins.'' We show how the properties of persistence and liveness of the ledger reduce in a black-boxįashion in the underlying properties of the backbone protocol, namely common prefix, chain quality and chain growth, and we improve the security bounds showing that the robustness of the ledger holds for even the faster (than Bitcoin's) block In this work, motivated by recent work \cite in the following ways: At an intuitive level it is widely understood that processing speed is at odds with the security aspects of the underlying POW based consensus mechanism of such protocols, nevertheless the tradeoff between the two properties is still not well understood. In cryptocurrencies that are based on proof of work (POW) such as Bitcoin. Transaction processing speed is one of the major considerations Paper 2015/1019 Speed-Security Tradeoffs in Blockchain Protocols – Unfortunately though, instead of embracing and supporting private landlords. – There exists now a huge selection of varied rental housing to choose from, with some of the highest standards that have ever existed. – Margaret Thatcher, introduced a more liberal approach to the property market ,which had seen decades of regulation and stagnation characterised by no choice ,dilapidated building’s,tenants paying minuscule rents for poor properties and landlords locked into penury not wishing to invest, for there would be no return or any hope of controlling their own property. Either for reasons of providing a pension for themselves, that they were in control of or more professional landlords that wished to build a business. – The introduction of the AST ( assured short hold tenancy )during Thatchers administration saw an increase in budding landlords wishing to invest in the provision of good quality accommodation. Anyone around the age of 60 plus must surely remember the dumps we had to to live in during our Twenties. – I think the public should have a huge debt of gratitude to private landlords. Yet they fail to realise that new homeowners won’t be voting Tory!!Īfter 26 years of being a landlord I am selling up ,I have had enough. The Tories are ideologically opposed to housing those that would vote Labour. Yet this perception is why the housing crisis is at it is. This mere perception just validates how politically inept the Tories are. The Tories really do believe that those who are facilitated to buy will vote Tory The Tories have an ideological obsession with reducing the numbers of letting properties in the UK which is exactly the opposite of what is required. It is these LL that are principally selling up That leaves a hard-core of about 25% of LL who are subject to S24 taxes. Unfortunately for Osborne about 25% of LL have been able to escape to corporate status. That was an easy hit to get rid of those LL. Osborne knew 50% of LL were mortgaged sole trader LL. It is scandalous to allow those who incorporate to escape S24. To a large extent his S24 policy was largely negated by low IR. This horror is what Osborne always wanted. Those days are over and the true full horror of S24 has been revealed. To a large extent S24 LL have been protected from the true horror by low IR. It has been very effective and continues to be even more so as IR gave increased. S24 was a very clever penal anti-LL policy. If by magic overnight all current LL subject to S24 were able to convert to incorporated businesses does anyone believe that Govt wouldn’t look at ways to impose S24 type effects on LL. The only thing about it that I really don't like is that the "WEED" is allegedly "tumbling" through the grid (according to the revealer clue) but if it's "tumbling" in a counterclockwise direction (which it is) then that means it should be moving west / left at all times, so. the movement of "WEED" itself in any given configuration, and 3. There's our movement through the "WEED," which is west to east / left to right, with that little two-letter jump (up over and down) every time we hit a "WEED." Then there's the "WEED" itself, which you read clockwise, but which tumbles counterclockwise. there are three different kinds of movement involved, by my count. that is making me dizzy as I try to follow the "tumbling." So. I like the idea of a WEED tumbling across the grid a lot, but there's a question of. The following year, in 2017, it was the 9th best selling game on Amazon. It was launched on Kickstarter on June 14, 2016, and it exceeded its goal of $10,000. The game was created by Elliot Tebele and Ben Kaplan in 2016. The game has been compared to Cards Against Humanity. The name of the game refers to internet memes and is a play on the phrase what do you mean. The judge of the round chooses the caption that they think is the best match to photo card, and whoever played that card gets a point. What Do You Meme? is a humorous party card game from Jerry Media in which players propose caption cards as a match to a designated photo (or meme) card. Word of the Day: "What Do You MEME?" Let us understand the concept better with the help of examples: Branches of Chemistry. reported the first clinical case of lipid emulsion for treating presumed bupivacaine toxicity in 2006 16. The administration of lipid emulsion affected the central nervous system toxicity induced by local anesthetics by increasing the dosage of bupivacaine and levobupivacaine needed to produce convulsion in awake rats 15. Moreover, Intralipid® improved the survival and hemodynamics of bupivacaine-induced cardiac toxicity in dogs 14. Pretreatment with lipid emulsion reportedly increased the dosage of bupivacaine needed to produce asystole in rats, and a mixture of Intralipid® and plasma containing bupivacaine produced a high lipid-to-aqueous-phase ratio of bupivacaine (11.9 ± 1.77), suggesting that Intralipid® has a high capacity to bind bupivacaine 13. reported ventricular arrhythmia caused by the presumed intravascular migration of an epidural catheter in a 6-year-old male patient with both secondary carnitine deficiency due to long-term treatment with valproic acid and a non-toxic dose of bupivacaine (0.58 mg/ml) 12. Based on these reports, this unexpected ventricular arrhythmia was likely associated with increased susceptibility to bupivacaine toxicity due to carnitine deficiency 7 - 11. reported that subcutaneous injection of a small dose of bupivacaine (non-toxic dose: 22 mg) in a 16-year-old female patient with isovaleric acidemia yielded unexpected ventricular arrhythmia likely caused by secondary systemic carnitine deficiency 7. Pretreatment with L-carnitine before bupivacaine-induced asystole in rats decreased the susceptibility to bupivacaine-induced cardiac toxicity 11. Bupivacaine prevents long-chain fatty acid transport to the mitochondria by inhibiting carnitine-acylcarnitine translocase 8 - 10. β-Oxidation produces adenosine triphosphate (ATP) in cardiac mitochondria using long-chain fatty acids as the major energy source of the heart 9. Carnitine helps transport long-chain fatty acids into the mitochondria 7 - 9 carnitine-acylcarnitine translocase transports long-chain acyl-carnitine into the mitochondrial matrix and returns carnitine to the cytoplasm 9. However, lipid emulsion is currently used to treat local anesthetic-induced systemic toxicity 2 - 6. Lipid emulsion was originally developed for parenteral nutrition in the 1960s 1. The current review includes the following: 1) an introduction, 2) a list of the proposed mechanisms, 3) a discussion of the best lipid emulsion treatment for reversal of local anesthetic toxicity, 4) a description of the effect of epinephrine on lipid emulsion-mediated resuscitation, 5) a description of the recommended lipid emulsion treatment, and 6) a conclusion. Investigators have suggested mechanisms associated with the lipid emulsion-mediated recovery of cardiovascular collapse caused by local anesthetic systemic toxicity these mechanisms include lipid sink, a widely accepted theory in which highly soluble local anesthetics (particularly bupivacaine) are absorbed into the lipid phase of plasma from tissues (e.g., the heart) affected by local-anesthetic-induced toxicity enhanced redistribution (lipid shuttle) fatty acid supply reversal of mitochondrial dysfunction inotropic effects glycogen synthase kinase-3β phosphorylation associated with inhibition of the mitochondrial permeability transition pore opening inhibition of nitric oxide release and reversal of cardiac sodium channel blockade. A systemic review and meta-analysis confirm the efficacy of this treatment. Lipid emulsion has been shown to be an effective treatment for systemic toxicity induced by local anesthetics, which is reflected in case reports. Which means that a low quality pencil could contain many sand-like bits that feel scratchy and can damage your artwork. Graphite pencils are typically mixed with varying amounts of clay. If you feel really strained after you finish a drawing, you might need to add a few more pencil grades to your toolbox, or learn how to use them more efficiently. HB: This pencil helps me shade the lightest areas of my portrait such as eyeballs and highlights without having to spend too much time focusing on the amount of pressure I’m putting on the paper and worrying if I’m shading to dark.ĦB: Without any effort at all, I can easily shade large areas of a portrait or background with a smooth dark layer of graphite. Here’s how each pencil below helps me get the job done faster and more efficiently: When it comes to portraiture, my most frequently used pencils are HB, 4B, 6B and 8B.Įach pencil has its benefits and can help you get the job done faster! I could use a monkey wrench to drive 1000 nails into my patio deck, but it wasn’t designed for that job. If you don’t want to buy a full set, you can get a few individual pencils. A set of soft pencils will fit the job perfectly. In order to achieve realistic textures such as fur, skin or fabrics, you’ll need pencils that blend well and are flexible enough to reach the darkest of tones in order to convey a realistic sense of depth. If you want to add dark shading to your drawing, pick up a few soft pencils so you can make your drawings pop out of the page. You won’t need to sharpen your pencils too often because the graphite is hard enough to hold a sharp tip longer than any B graded pencil. Hard pencils don’t smudge easily, so your drawings will always be sharp and clean. If you’re into drawing buildings, cars or technical sketches, a set of hard pencils will suit you well. Architectural / Product Sketches / Technical Sketches The pencils you need will depend on the type of drawings you do. Although, it would be a big challenge since it would require a lot of effort to keep from shading your drawing too dark.ĭon’t be intimidated by the number of pencils I listed up there! Most likely, you’ll only need to use 3-5 of them. Even though 9B is the softest pencil, you can still use it to draw an entire portrait with values ranging from medium grey to black. This shows you how flexible each grade of pencil is. If you look at the first image, there are some gradients under each square. Here’s a list of pencil grades in order from lightest to darkest or hardest to softest.ĩH, 8H, 7H, 6H, 5H, 4H, 3H, 2H, H, F, HB, B, 2B, 3B, 4B, 5B, 6B, 7B, 8B, 9B Value RangeĮach pencil is capable of covering a wide range of values. So a 9B pencil is softer/darker than a 2B, while an 8H will be harder/lighter than a 3H. The number beside each letter represents the level of hardness or softness. The softer the pencil, the smoother the graphite. Why? Because soft pencils deposit more graphite onto your drawing surface. Hard pencils produce light lines while soft pencils produce dark lines. The letters on a pencil will tell you its level of hardness or softness.
To do that, press Windows+R to open the Run box, copy and paste the following path into the Open field, and then click OK: %localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset Hence, you need to perform a OneDrive reset and see if that fixes the problem. If the OneDrive icon isn’t hidden, then the issue likely stems from a broken OneDrive cache. If it doesn’t, check among the hidden icons and just drag it out onto the system tray. The OneDrive icon should now be visible on the system tray immediately. Step 3: If you see the toggle next to Microsoft OneDrive turned off, simply turn it back on. Step 2: Scroll down to the Notification Area section, and then click Select Which Icons Appear on the Taskbar. Step 1: Right-click a vacant area on the taskbar, and then click Taskbar Settings on the context menu. To check if that’s the case, you need to dive into the Windows 10 Settings panel briefly. It’s possible for the OneDrive icon to be disabled from appearing as a system tray icon in the first place. If the OneDrive icon is available among them, simply drag and drop it onto the system tray, and you should be good to go. To check if this is the case with OneDrive icon as well, simply click the arrow-shaped icon to the left of the system tray, and you should be able to see all hidden icons within a separate pane. Windows 10 often tends to hide various icons just because there are too many of them on the system tray. There are a few possible reasons why the OneDrive icon can go missing, and the following troubleshooting tips should help you get it right back. Aside from losing out on crucial OneDrive statuses and the ability to manage the cloud storage service, you are left in the dark as to whether OneDrive is even functioning normally. Whether it’s denoting actively syncing files, a paused sync session, or a call to attention, the OneDrive icon serves a vital purpose.
